GranFondo Racing win for Brain Cancer Care in B.C.
The Prospera Valley GranFondo race that took place on July 22, 2012 was a Win for the Wedgewood Hotel & Spa and the Wedgewood Cycling Team.
Wedgewood Cycling Team - It's a Win!
35 members of Team Wedgewood / AutoLITT lined up for the start of the Valley Gran Fondo in Fort Langley last Sunday. Almost .5 million dollars were raised for Brain Cancer Care in B.C. and for AutoLITT.
Traditionally, brain cancer therapies have been centered on three main treatment options: surgery, radiation and chemotherapy. AutoLITT is a new therapeutic system offering the potential to improve current brain cancer therapies and reduce long term treatment side-effects.
This will bring hope to many Cancer patients and save many lives! We are very grateful to all those who donated for this wonderful cause. $70k were raised by Team Wedgewood, adding to the major gift of $350k donated by the Wedgewood Hotel & Spa.
Thank you to all those who contributed to Cancer Care!
Wedgewood Hotel & Spa General Manager Philip Meyer finished the 160km in a fast time of 4 hrs 9 mins, capturing 1st in his age group and 6th place overall in the Prospera Valley GranFondo. Full results can be found here http://www.valleygranfondo.com/results.
