Magical Evening at the Vancouver Art Gallery’s FUSE

Grand Ballroom FUSE at Vancouver Art Gallery

On select Fridays, the Vancouver Art Gallery transforms into a magical place for art, music and live performance in the city. This past Friday was the Grand Ballroom FUSE, it was inspired by the current exhibition (running until September 15th), Grand Hotel: Redesigning Modern Life.

What I enjoyed the most were the two FUSE Lounges, one outdoor by the gallery’s patio bar decorated by white balloons – very Gatsby-like, and one indoor featuring projection demonstrations and experimental music. The list does not end there; the gallery’s 4th floor rooftop pavilion was open for guests. I must say, the night view looking over the gallery’s patio and Robson Square just made my night!

FUSE even extended the free performances onto Robson Street, in honour of VIVA Vancouver‘s new summer time plaza, Corduroy Road. While sitting at the stairs by Robson Square and trying to let all these festivities sink in, we were lucky enough to catch a glimpse of the dancing demonstrations from DanceSport BC, which happens every Friday evening until August 30th, 2013. It was definitely nice to see families of all ages to come out and dance the night away in this warm Summer night in Vancouver.

If you missed this past FUSE event, don’t worry because Vancouver is full of many more exciting events and activities this Summer. Wedgewood Hotel & Spa, one of Vancouver’s leading luxurious boutique hotels in downtown Vancouver, is situated steps away from the Art Gallery and Robson Square. The perfect spot for you and your family & friends to enjoy these amazing Summer festivities! Take advantage of the Wedgewood’s Special Summer Promotion as well, only valid to September 30th, 2013.
