The Vancouver Children's Festival runs during the month of May
at Vanier Park. It is the flagship programme of the Canadian
Institute of the Arts for Young Audiences. It is recognized

Alcan International Dragon Boat Festival
Dragon boat racing began in Vancouver in 1986 during that year's
Expo celebrations. Racing continued through 1987 and 1988 and
the Alcan International Dragon Boat Festival, adding multicultural
entertainment, exhibitions and a food fair to the racing, was
launched in June of 1989. In addition to the enjoyment of the
sport itself, the mission of the festival is to build bridges
of understanding between Vancouver's diverse cultural communities.
The Alcan Dragon Boat Festival takes place in June at the Plaza
of Nations, Concord Pacific Place and on the waters of False
Creek. False Creek and the Dragon Boat Festival are approximately a twenty minute walk from the Wedgewood Hotel & Spa.
Vancouver International Jazz Festival
Vancouver pulses with great jazz during the month of June when
over 1,500 musicians entertain at Vancouver's biggest and most
exciting music festival. The festival closes with a free two-day
outdoor concert extravaganza at David Lam Park and the Roundhouse.
Get ready for Jazz at the Roundhouse during the month of June
featuring over 35 acts during the two day event. The festival

HSBC Celebration of Light
The HSBC symphony of musical fireworks competitions
are considered to be the most important in the world and are
unique to Canada. Although there are non-musical fireworks competitions
elsewhere in the world, musical fireworks competitions of this
size and caliber do not exist. The world's leading fireworks'

Capilano Suspension Bridge

The Vancouver Museum, Canada's largest civic museum, embarks

Canadian Craft Museum
The Canadian Craft Museum is dedicated to presenting excellence
in craft, craftsmanship and design, from Canada and around the
world. Each year the CCM presents an average of 12 exhibits.

Lynn Canyon
Towering trees and swift rapids set the stage nestled between
the Capilano and Seymour watersheds, in Lynn Valley. The park
provides well-marked trails and a free suspension bridge. The
suspension bridge at Lynn Canyon Park crosses the impressive
tree-edged Lynn Canyon 80 m above Lynn Creek and its waterfalls.
The developed trails are ideal for leisurely strolls, while
the network of wilderness trails at Lynn Headwaters Regional
Park offers more energetic hikes from 15 minutes to 1.5 hours.
Rusting machinery, enormous stumps and work camps from the Cedars
Ltd. mill site, abandoned in 1928, are still scattered along
the Cedar Mills Trail route. While there, visit the Lynn Canyon
Ecology Centre which has displays, models, free slide shows
and films which explore plant and animal ecology as well as
